Loft Conversions. How much does it cost? To answer this question, first decide, how  you want the finished loft conversion to look.
The following factors will decide what kind of price you will be looking to pay.

Changing the roof structure;

Do you have enough room inside your loft right now to create the room you want? If not then you will need a dormer roof or Mansard style roof which will add about £10,000-£20,000 cost to a standard semi detached House.

The Plumbing costs will add around £1200, to fix pipework to your project. Furthermore, the sanitary wear and tiling will also add to your budget so its wise to take time and shop around online to find the best deals.

Chimney breasts/water tanks. These May have to be removed to accommodate your new loft room. You may also require a combi boiler if you currently a hot water tank situated in your loft.

A mains wired smoke detector is an essential safety item and will be required for your conversion to meet building regulations.

Sound proofing;

This is one area where you shouldn’t cut the budget. Buy the best quality sound board and the densest under floor insulation on the market. The family members sleeping on the floor below the loft conversion will be driven crazy by noises and hearing every step, toilet flush, bed creek or TV noise if the conversion is not properly sound proofed.

Our advice is to go for the highest quality conversion and fit out you dare afford even if it demanded taking out a loan to fund the works.
